Nonini had a great passion for music, as such he allowed his life to revolve around music and it didn’t take long before he came to the limelight when he signed into Calif Records in 2002.


Nonini later signed for Homeboyz Production where he released his hit single titled Nonini Ni Nani.

The single was a bang and later won him many plaudits and recognition in the Kenyan Urban Music industry.

In that same year, the Kenyan music icon released his second single “Manxi WA Nairobi which became one of the most featured songs on the radio stations.

Immediately after the release of Manxi WA Nairobi was the release of Weh Kamu. In 2004, Nonini released his first studio album titled Hanyaring Game.

The album Hanyaring Game contained several hit singles such as Keroro, a slang that stands for beer in Kenya.

Nonini also did several collaborations with prominent Kenya artistes like Nameless to produce the track “furahi-day” which was regarded as a Friday national anthem; he also worked with Tanzanian music artiste Juma Nature on the single Nani Mwenza which became a hit in the region.

Since the creation of the crew, P-Unit, several hit songs have been released, Notably “Si Lazima” which is the Swahili language that means “its not a must”.

In 2007, at the Kisima Music Awards, P-Unit won the Boomba Group category, this was the first time Nonini won a Kisima award.

Nonini founded the Pro-Habo Unit (P-Unit) in 2003. The group consisted of famous rappers Frasha, Gabu and Bonnie as well as Nonini himself.

In 2010, the popular album titled “Wagenge Hao” which contained 17 tracks was released. Recorded by Decimal Media. In 2011 the song “Gentleman” in collaboration with the famous Kenyan group Sauti Sol was released.

In 2014, the crew released a good number of hit singles including the hit single “love”, video which was shot and directed in South Africa, was released on Valentine’s day.

The group was later rumored to have separated but in 2015 the rumored was confirmed to be false. Though individuals members of the group have been working on solo projects.

In total the group has released two albums namely; Wagenge Hao (2010) and Wagenge Hao Tena (2014). What is more interesting about this music icon, Nonini is that he is also a philanthropist who co-parents kids with Wamaitha Mwangi. at an orphanage.
